Winter Mats

Possibly not the first thing you would've liked to open your newsletter and read, but it had to come around sooner or later. The Fairway mat rule will be applicable from Monday 2nd November. In detail for those who aren't familiar with it, any ball lying on a closely mown area (Grass cut to fairway height or less) MUST be played from a fairway Mat which is purchasable from the Pro Shop for just £5.00.



 

It has been an eventful year, filled with great golf, relatively good conditions and great people. We've had maiden major winners, and multiple major winners, but this weekend we meet for Goodbye Summer. An event in the calendar year I look forward to for 2 reasons. The first being the beginning of shorter hours, and a well-earned rest has arrived. The latter being my anniversary at Stamford Golf Club, 9 years to the day!





Another reason the end of summer isn't a bad thing, the winter league has arrived.

Due to commence on Sunday 8th November. Every Sunday from then on we will be holding a shop competition with points allocated to the top 10 places.

Turkey Shoot

This Sunday is the Stamford Golf Club Turkey Shoot Open, if you haven't already got your name down to play then it may be wise to do so very soon as slots are almost full. It's an opportunity to take a bird home to your wife, I'm sure she'll be really pleased.
