Junior Captain's Drive-In
The sun shone down on this years’ Junior Captain Taylor Yates as he launched into the season.
"This year as Junior Captain I am looking forward to representing our section. I hope we can continue to build and develop the Juniors here at Stamford, taking our great reputation to the next level. I’m also looking forward to defending our BMW Challenge victory from 2013".
Good luck Taylor!

It wasn’t the start to the season we had in mind, with a defeat in the preliminary round of the Dunham Forest Trophy. We were drawn away at Greenmount Golf Club, located in Bury. The short 9 hole course certainly played in the favour of the home side, although the Match was 3-2 to Stamford with 2 games left on the course. Youth member Josh Ainscough and Assistant Pro Andy Earlam were both making their debut appearance for the team. Josh took his opponent down the 1st extra hole but failed to convert the point for Stamford which left the pressure to the Professionals. Andy was filling in for myself as I was unavailable, making his debut on short notice he took his opponent to the 17th hole to be beat him 2 & 1.
Its an old cliché in golf and we all like to take advantage of the saying...“There’s always next time”
