It's been a few weeks since I last updated my readers with news and developments so here we go... Most of you will be aware, I have been away on my honeymoon, to the lovely town of Protaras in Cyprus. However, it's always a pleasure to be back amongst the lovely green hills of Carrbrook.

Dunham Forest
The club this year have progressed through 2 rounds successfully, reaching the last 16 with a home draw v's Ashton on Mersey. The date is yet to be arranged.
The last round brought a local Derby to Stamford as Ashton under Lyne fielded their best 7 against our best 7. The result finishing in 6-1 to Stamford, a comfortable home victory, proving our links to be a touch too difficult for the visitors. The game was played in Great Spirit, and all good feedback from the locals was received. The course played very fair, and with compliments to John Pierrpoint and his staff, it was in tremendous condition. An update will made with our progress through the tournament.
James Kemptser
One of Stamford's young stars James Kempster has recently been representing the County. James competed at Lymm Golf Club in a county match against locals Lancashire, helping towards a comfortable win of 10.5 - 7.5. Congratulations James, keep up the good work.
Out of Bounds - 12th
In response to complaints and dangerous incidents, the Club are having to take action of making the 12th hole a safer place to play golf. It has been reported on numerous occasions, balls are landing on Huddersfield road which runs parallel with the 12th hole. Under these circumstances, it has been agreed to bring the Out of Bounds closer to the fairway making the hole tighter, and therefore tempting golfers to be more cautious when playing the hole. This method will hopefully eradicate the erratic shot and therefore reducing the threat of any danger to the public. Should this be unsuccessful other measures will be made in an attempt to solve the issue.
