PGA Professional Championships
This week has brought me some great experience although it wasn't good news in terms of my performance. As if turning up to face 30-40 mph winds with driving rain wasn't going to be hard enough, I was then paired with past winner and in-form Gareth Wright from West Linton Golf Club in Edinburgh. It was a case of sink or swim as they say, but my technique just wasn't up to scratch and I failed to make the cut after the second round on Wednesday.
It was the fourth time I qualified to play the pinnacle event of the year in the last five years and I will be looking forward to the qualifier next year as the main event is held at Woodall Spa, one of my old favourites.
Twos sweep
In addition to the recent alterations with the two's sweep, we have made further amendments in terms of how we playout. If you are successful in achieving a two during a competition, we would ask you to tick the two's box as per usual but then please write the names on the score card who the playout will be split between. If there are no additional names on the card, we will assume the two is not split and therefore the winnings will be added to the account of the individual who made the two.
A more detailed explanation is available in the Pro Shop. These amendments help a more accurate and transparent two's sweep playout.
Lombard Trophy
Tuesday, 9 June sees me teeing it up in the Lombard qualifier at Formby with April Monthly medal Winner, Russell Lodge. The national Pro Am is a qualifier for a main final event which is held at Gleneagles with a very healthy prize fund, so wish us well and our result will be visible from this link.
Happy golfing, until next week.
