It’s not often I get to sit and write my newsletter at midday on a Wednesday. The pleasure of having a little girl struck down by a bug see me keeping myself busy from my own home. So what have we been upto this week? Competition news from Stamford Golf Club & latest arrivals.
Saturday, 9 May – Cheetham Cup
The second major of the year and once again there was a story to tell. Relatively new member Alex Hurst lost his first major for simply not signing his own scorecard. He posted an unbeatable 87 – 23 for a nett 64. A score not to be matched by anyone else. They say you live and learn but this is a high price to pay for a simple mistake. I’m sure he won’t do it again.
The winner Simon Reynolds managed a 73 Gross – 7 = 66 nett to deny Adam Carr in his first competition back at SGC for 4 years. Congratulations Simon!
- Simon Reynolds 73 – 7 = 66
- Adam Carr 77 – 10 = 67
- Regan Glaister 84 – 16 - 68
