Winter League – update
Following week 9 of the developing Sunday winter league, Paul Traynor is still the man to beat although James Woodcock took the headlines last Sunday with a seasonal best of 45 points. It was the highest score we have received from any winner throughout the event.
James has been undergoing a swing change ready for 2015 with myself. The work appears to be paying off James with that gross 67!
Well done!
Bill McNaul
Let's come away from the golf course for one article, and learn more about one of Stamford Golf Clubs long serving members. Past Captain, Past President & Hon. Life member Mr Bill McNaul who joined us in 1967 giving him 48 years pleasure of this scenic landscape. Bill has served 20 years on the management committee of the club, who was also involved with the development of the current function room which was an extension to the original clubhouse.
In 1971 Bill won his only Major tournament, the Presidents competition. He became the club Captain in 1980 and the club President in 1993 & 1994.
