Winter League Week 3 Paul Traynor has made his presence known by placing his foot firmly in the doorway with a solid 42 points in his opening round of the Winter League season. Holing his second shot on the rabbit after hitting one or two trees was an early sign things were going his way on Sunday and collecting enough prize money to put himself straight to the top of the money list after his first week in the WL. Williams, Duffy and Perks made the most of good conditions with Woodcock, Houfe and Leech making up ground on the field too. However, Blanchflower felt a weeks’ rest was in order after his 44 Stableford points last week.
Sunday’s conditions were a bonus for this time of year which have confused some of us with fairway mats usually in play by now and us having just the one winter green in play. This coming week has forecast colder conditions and there has been some rain fall since last weekend making the course play that little bit longer. I’m therefore predicting a relatively low winning score for week 4 (considering the score that usually get posted in Winter League). |
