Single Stableford result Improved weather conditions this week has certainly given us golfers' hope of a better season ahead. The course is beginning to take shape and well on its way to a full recovery from the most brutal of winters. Saturday’s singles stableford found us three divisional winners, all of who managed similar scores to cap their division. - Division 1 - Michael Bardsley = 40 points
- Division 2 - Andrew Angelone = 41 points
- Division 3 - Chris Montgomery = 41 points
Chris Montgomery being one of my students currently working on the monthly development plan. It’s been a frustrating period for Chris and I have watched his scores fluctuate up and down in the time. The recent progress makes my job all worth the while... congratulations to all three divisional winners.
Team golf A tough draw wasn't what we had in mind when the first round draw of the Dunham Forest Trophy was published. "Away", is almost the last thing you want to read... followed by "Bolton old Links" made it quite possibly the toughest draw we could've wished for. A gallant effort from team Captain Chris Easter and his men. The game was heavily looking in favour of Bolton Old Links until some of the matches began to turn for Stamford. As the final groups were approaching the final holes, the score stood at 3-1 to the home side. James Kempster would hole out to claim a much needed point for Stamford with one match still to finish. That final match came to a climax on the 20th hole (2nd sudden death hole) with the dream over for Stamford 4.5 – 2.5.
