Title Of 'Best Putter' In The Club

Pull out the short stick as some might refer it to. We're staging a competition in July to find the undisputed 'best putter' in the Golf Club. The competition will run for approximately 2 weeks with the final day being Sunday 23rd July. The full details of the competition will be available in the pro shop, but what I can tell you now is the winner will be receiving a brand new Odyssey O-Works Putter.

Planning for 2018 

Some of you will be aware of a new promotion I made available recently. I noticed I was getting better results from clients who have multiple visits when making swing changes. For that reason, I introduced a 12 month lesson plan in an attempt to offer a better chance of making a change to a player's movement. 

To make it fair, I felt a maximum of 20 clients would be able to take up this offer due to my time being very limited, particularly throughout the summer season. Having not thoroughly pushed this promotion, I do still have some availability. Rabbits 

Following a disappointing postponed game last week due to flooding and high winds against Dukinfield, the Rabbits were made to reschedule the game to Tuesday 8th August. This week, however, was typical British climate. Quite the opposite with perfect golfing conditions, sunshine and no wind what so ever, setting up a tough Cup tie against Brookdale Golf Club. 

With the format being a mixture of greensome matches and singles matches, it was Kev Brown who had the earliest bath with a 7&6 victory in the singles. The final team result suggested an easy week for the home team as Stamford marched through into the next round with an 8-2 victory overall.

'A' Team 

It's been a tough start to the season for Captain Kev Duffy with 3 away starts out of 4 games in the Premier Division of the Oldham & District 'A' league. His men have accumulated 10 points from a potential 32 to find themselves at the bottom of the pile. 

Their latest result away at Denton Golf Club ended as a 8-0 loss. Captain Duffy now faces 3 home draws for the following three weeks where he plans to make some ground on those ahead to avoid a drop in the championship next season.

'B' Team 

It's getting serious as Team matches are becoming a priority for some players. Putting their singles games behind to support the Club badge. This week the 'B' team have made their way over the hill in an attempt to stay top of the East Division 'B' league. Brookdale are currently standing bottom to last, accumulating 11 points from their opening 5 games of the season and shouldn't be a problem for our boys.
