Pro's away day
It is with great pleasure I can announce the official date & venue of this year's away day. For the last two years the day has been organised at a venue offering 27 holes. 9 holes of which were par 3’s in the morning and a full 18 hole course in the afternoon. This year things are a little different as we are venturing to the finest inland Golf Course in Cheshire, Delamere Forest Golf Club - rated the best inland golf course in Cheshire, and 56th best inland golf course in England. More info can be found by clicking here or on the image above.
The day will include;
- A return executive coach from Stamford Golf Club to Delamere Forest Golf Club.
- Bacon Roll & Coffee on arrival
- 18 holes of Golf
- 2 course meal (Jacket & Tie required)
- Return coach home
- Prizes – sponsored by Total ropes solutions (Chris Hey)
All for just £75 - We have opened the day to a maximum of 52 golfers’, of which we have received 40 entries. Should you wish to join us please let me know by clicking here and get your £25 deposit to me as soon as possible!
Cheap Greenfees
Once known as an elitist game and only played by the rich, the game of golf has become more available to the working class. In recent years the price of Green Fees has dropped throughout every club with the occasional exception to the premier clubs such as Royal Birkdale and the like. That can somewhat be frustrating for the full paying member, as he/she stays loyal to their club paying the full expected fees, yet a visitor can come along and receive discounted daily rates. The good news for all you full paying members is the Cheshire Card scheme. If you are a full paying member of Stamford Golf Club you are entitled to a Cheshire Card FREE of charge. More information can be found by following this link:

The Cheshire card offers further discounts on Greenfees at most clubs in Cheshire. This gives you even cheaper rates, as you are a full member of an affiliated golf club in the Cheshire county. Until this year, the Cheshire Card would come to you at a cost of around £40 per year. The idea of dropping the fee, is giving you something back for being a member of a club but encouraging you to go and visit other courses in your county at a reduced rate.

Golf balls for coaching
Thank you to those who have made a speedy donation to my practice ball stock. I was extremely low which made teaching groups of juniors very difficult. I am now fully stocked although I may send this message out again when I’m running low.
Washed out Monthly medal
Once again for the second time in 3 weeks the adverse weather conditions prevented us from completing the Saturday competition. An electrical storm initially caused a delay although the rain carried on and the competition had to be cancelled. The rearranged date for the June Monthly medal is 26th July 2014.
Sunday Shop Comp – 8th June
New member Regan Glaister topped a healthy shop competition. Entries hit 36 giving a superb payout for 1st, 2nd & 3rd position.
- Regan Glaister – 40 points
- Nick Rabeth – 39 points
- Kev Barber – 39 points
Great members, Great club!
