200 Club proving its worth 

Personally I've been a member of the 200 club from the day it began in 2014. Each month it announces several cash winners who support the event setup by founder Neil White. This month it makes yet another introduction to the club with a new Bench on the 12th tee, which some would agree has been greatly missed!

Open Turkey Shoot; 

An event I enjoy taking part in each year with three of my good pals. The weather turned out well after threats of rain, wind and bitter cold. Coming out on top of the pile was Jamie Chadwick & Pete Wilkinson with a show stopping 48 points, quite a remarkable score I must say. That was closely followed with 47 points by Chris Easter & Phil Easter. I must inform you all our 41 points was just about good enough to collect a meat voucher which I intend to spend very wisely. In 20th position collecting the last prize voucher was Wayne Morris & Nick Rabbeth on 40 points. 

Single Stableford - 5th November 

Div 1 - Rick Irving - 32 points 
Div 2 - Regan Glaister - 32 points
Div 3 - Andrew Green - 33 points 

Eclectic Result 2016 

An incredible story that Jamie Chadwick is building up right here as he claims another prize this season in the Eclectic. For those who are unaware what the event is made up of, it is a players best Monthly medal scores & Medal scores taken from all of the major competitions. Jamie has managed to finish -18 under par for all 18 holes but surprisingly that includes two eagles on holes & 12 respectively which gave him level birdies for the 18 holes as he only managed par on holes 4 & 16. I guess there's two ways of looking at that result, but I can see room for improvement Jamie!

Hydes Trophy result 2016 

He's at it again for yet another annual trophy, this time Jamie Chadwick collects the Hydes Trophy. This event is made up of your best 4 scores from 8 events. Jamie with a total of 337 took the 4 shot victory over Simon Reynolds who finished runner up with 341. 

It's only fair to say the work Jamie has put in over the past 12 months using our latest investment of GC2 technology is working wonders for his game. His commitment to improve was promised 18 months ago where Jamie asked for some wise advice to improve as a golfer. That decision is paying itself off as 3 of the above 4 results begin with his name. Keep up the good work Jamie, Scratch is just around the corner! 

Sycamore Trophy result 2016 

An interesting contest played over 9 rounds with the best 5 gross scores counting. Coming out on top as most would expect is Andy Bent, however that hasn't been the case all season. Andy has been up against some convincingly good golfers recently with the development of the younger generation and new members coming back to the club challenging for that top spot. On this occasion that didn't happen though and the star man stood his ground with 5 gross scores of 70, 70, 73, 69 & 73 for 355 total. In second place was Steve Moores a total of 361. 

Castle Trophy 

He had to pop up on top somewhere after a very encouraging season back at SGC. His recent return has proved a challenging test with an increase in handicap as most would expect with the difficult standard scratch we face here. However, Steve Moores has managed to reduce his handicap back to 5 and claim the Castle trophy along the way…. JUST! Nett Scores of 62, 66, 71, 71 & 63 offered him a convincing lead going into the last round with eyes on just one man Simon Reynolds, until Jamie Hughes posted his seasonal showcase 65 gross for a nett 60 to catapult him into 2nd place and miss out on the major by just 2 shots.
