Half term Golf Camp

We are recruiting 10 juniors for an in depth 3-day coaching programme on Tuesday 27th, Wednesday 28th & Thursday 29th May (9am - 3pm each day) during the half term holidays next week.

For just £40 per child, we will cover all aspects of technique for short game, iron play and driving. We will touch on golf course management & etiquette, to then finish off with a mini tournament each day.

We aim to pack each day full of fun & knowledge for the youngsters. All three days will be taken by myself and assistant PGA professional Andy Earlam. Included each day is lunch (sandwich, juice & jelly & ice cream) - all 3 days for just £40 per child.

Vice Captains Competition

Fantastic weather which was ordered by the vice captain for his weekend, was enjoyed by a very well supported field. Record numbers part taken in the Saturday Singles stableford, with a not so regularly winner climbing his way to the top of the leader board. Alan Johnston, managed a convincing 3 shot victory with 42 points, clearing 4 others on 39 points. The leading junior was Taylor Yates with 37 points.

Schofield Gents Charity Open 

The weather carried on through the weekend, providing scorching conditions on our first Open competition of 2014. This time topping the leaderboard, in-form Mr Dwayne Lloyd & playing partner Dave Ashworth with 43 points. New member Chris Easter & big brother Phil Easter managed 42 points to finish runners up thanks to a terrific 2 down the last from Chris for 4 points. Well done boys!

Our next Open competition is on Thursday 12th June for the Seniors Open (£20 per pair), which is filling fast! This event will quickly be followed by our Gents Open 4 man team AM-AM on Sunday 22nd June (£40 per team of 4).

Akers flying the flag 

The Akers family have been flying the flag for Stamford recently with a victory in Scotland then shortly followed by another victory at neighbouring club Crompton & Royton. 

Their first pickup came in the Russell cup at Dumfries & County on the 3rd May. They travelled back home to play 2 days later in the Charity shield at C&R where they once again managed to top the leader board. Well done the 2 of you!
