Etiquette & Ruling column
This week I will be introducing an Etiquette and ruling. I believe we are in the progress of developing the game of golf, and amongst us are a lot of relatively new golfers, unaware of the true rules and etiquette of the game. My advice each week will be relatively simple yet there will be golfers out there unaware of these facts. I hope they become useful to you;
Teeing ground;
The teeing ground is the starting place for the hole you intend to play. It is a rectangular area from the tee markers extending away from the hole by two club lengths in depth. A ball is outside the teeing ground when all of the ball lies outside the teeing ground.
A player may stand outside the teeing ground to play a ball which lies inside the rectangular teeing area.

The Great British Summer
As I looked for inspiration for this week's health inspired column, I searched for the most common injuries that can befall a golfer. One of the top 10 injuries was surprising. Sunburn Yup. Sunburn. You'd be forgiven for thinking that this is a joke. I mean the sun hasn't had his hat on all year. Some day's trench foot seems more likely. But the stats don't lie. Despite the rain, we ARE in summer, and during that brief period when the sun peeks from behind a rain cloud, there is enough strength in it to cause sun burn. And this is definitely one "injury" in which prevention is better than cure.
Get some sunscreen in your bag. Even if it is just wishful thinking.
