For the first time in as long as my memory goes back, yesterday we managed a full 24 hours without any rain. Considering the rainfall we have received, I am proud to boast that we have stuck to our policy of keeping the course open every day. With all credit to the Green Staff we have also been able to remain on majority of the summer greens too, reportedly in great condition too.

 

Personally I am struggling to get a game of golf in myself. Many of you will be aware of the Manchester Alliance I play in weekly. This event has been cancelled for 4 weeks running, much to my disappointment. Once again highlighting the difficulty most clubs are finding with the conditions.




Throughout the testing conditions the winter league has stood up to its title. Members have been fighting the elements each week and for those who follow it, you will notice it is bunching up nicely coming into the final quarter of the season. Currently standing at the top is Paul Traynor, challenging for his second title in a row, but closely followed by Brian Thomas, Steve Finan, Iain Starkie and now Chris Exton has worked his way into the mix.

Saturday 6th January The monthly medal on Saturday was cancelled unfortunately. 




The Vice-Captain has managed to put together a fixture list for the coming season. The list consists of all the club competitions including majors and Open events. Hopefully this will help you when booking your holidays for 2016. These are available from the Pro Shop or the clubhouse.
