Meeta member
I was recently approached by a member and askedif I would introduce a meet a member column tothe newsletter. He claimed to have little chanceof ever winning a competition, but this way hehad every chance of reaching the Newsletterheadlines. So here goes, with a little twist;
Personal info;
Although not quite proud of it at the moment,this randomly selected member admits himself tobe a Man United Fan having grown up in MilesPlatting, he's a true Mancunion. He's also akeen supporter of Aberdeen Football Club, thehome town of his Mother.
Set to celebrate his 45th wedding anniversary inFebruary 2016, and no doubt will be drinking hisfavourite drink on the night; Newcastle Brown!On the other hand, maybe he will sit at homewith his Son & 2 Grand Children and tuckinto his favourite meal, Fish Pie?!
Golfing background;
Currently playing off a handicap of 18 with acareer low handicap achievement of 17, thisgentlemen thoroughly enjoys contributing to teamgolf at Stamford Golf Club.
He has never won a major, although claims tohave finished 3rd place in 3 different majorcompetitions at Stamford Golf Club.
His most memorable golfing experience cameplaying in a PGA Pro-am in Cornwall in April2015, at St Enedoc Golf Club, as conditions werewhat he described as absolutely perfect.However, his worst golfing experience came onhis home Golf Course, Stamford. He once managedto make 13 points in a 12 hole Wednesday nightstableford, of which 6 of those points werepicked up on one hole with a 2 for 6 points.
Duringthis round, he teed off on the 5th hole andmanaged to play his 5th shot from further awaythan where he originally began the hole. He wenton to complete that hole in 14 strokes!
To all my readers, I will leave this littleteaser with you, along with a cropped photo foryour final clue. The answer will appear in nextweek's newsletter!
If you think you know who this is, answerson a postcard please!
Week 4 of the winter league witnessed LewisKerfoot collecting his secondwin of the season and for that a further 20points in the league.
Having only played in two of the first fourevents and collecting two wins!
I can only suspect the handicaps andcompetitions secretary has made a specialreminder.
Up there again for a fourth consecutive week wasIain Starkie,Brian Thomasand Steve Finan.All managing to collect points in all of the 4opening events.
Maybe the Handicaps and competitionssecretaries' piece of paper contains these namestoo??
